Sharing a link to an entire ebook from the EBSCO eBook Collection with your class is similiar to linking to a specific article in an EBSCO database. Directions are below:

  1. Click on the desired ebook title to pull up the detailed record for the item.
  2. Click on Permalink (the chain icon) on the righthand side of the detailed record.
  3. Copy the URL in the Permalink box (the remote access prefix (proxy) is already included).
  4. Paste the URL in your Moodle course, email message, online syllabus, etc.
  5. Please note, if accessing this link from off-campus, the MCNet username and password will be needed.

If you are wanting students to read a specific section from an ebook, there are two ways you can accomplish this. The first way is similar to linking to the whole ebook record. Directions are below:

  1. Click on the desired ebook title to pull up the detailed record for the item.
  2. Click on the desired chapter or section from the table of contents located at the bottom of the detailed record.
  3. Once you are on the page beginning the section you want to link to, click on Permalink (the chain icon) on the righthand side of the detailed record. The persistent link will bring students to the ebook page you are currently viewing when you choose Permalink.
  4. Copy the URL in the Permalink box (the remote access prefix (proxy) is already included).
  5. Paste the URL in your Moodle course, email message, online syllabus, etc.
  6. Please note, if accessing this link from off-campus, the MCNet username and password will be needed.

The second option will work if the section you want to share is less than 60 pages long. [Note: Some publishers limit to less than 60 pagses, as seen below.] This option allows you to save a PDF copy of a section of an ebook and email it to your students. Directions are below:

  1. Click on the desired ebook title to pull up the detailed record for the item.
  2. Click on the desired chapter or section from the table of contents located at the bottom of the detailed record.
  3. Once you are on the page beginning the correct section or chapter, click on the envelope icon (hover message "Select and email pages from this ebook" will appear) on the righthand side of the detailed record.
  4. At the top of the record, a menu will appear notifying you of page limit restrictions, page selections, citation information, and boxes for email recipients, subject, and comments. An example is below:
